Dear Friends and Colleagues,
We are excited to share that the National Center for Children in Poverty (NCCP) officially moved to Bank Street Graduate School of Education on July 1, 2019.
Founded at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health, NCCP has worked for 30 years to advance family-oriented research and translate findings into actionable recommendations that reduce the number of families experiencing hardship. Our work has informed policy changes in the area of early care and education, paid family leave, disability policy, immigration, early childhood mental health, and more. We are grateful to our partners at Columbia University for their longstanding support of the center’s work.
Now, we look forward to working within the Bank Street Graduate School of Education as we continue our mission to put research into action to improve the lives and futures of low-income children and their families. For over a century, Bank Street has been a leader in early childhood education, teacher and leader preparation, and the development of innovative practices in schools and communities.
With a shared commitment to achieving meaningful change in the policies that support equity for all children from birth to age 18, NCCP is eager to continue our work under the auspices of Bank Street. It is our hope that through continued partnerships with many local, state, and national organizations across the country, NCCP will help our leaders use research and data to forge policies that help children and their families thrive.
